Pickled Onions and Sardines

Just about everyone I know who's seen 300 hated it. Boys, anyhow. My two male flatmates were both gravely disappointed by the lack of plot. I agreed that a fair bit of it was stolen from Gladiator/Star Wars/Braveheart/Lord of the Rings......

But as a girl, I went into it with absolutely no expectations. I'd seen the shorts and when all they show in those is fight scenes, I can generally guess it's going to be a crap movie. So, I didn't want to see it at all. I only went because other people were going......

And I can honestly say that we girls didn't mind it! I can go on about the use of chiarascuro (I use that term whenever possible, now that I can pronounce it) and the visual style..... but at the end of the day we were mostly persuaded by the hot bodies. Some liked the thighs, some likes the abs...... But rarely has such a top notch collection of male specimens been seen on screen together!

It at the very least gave us an insight into what it's like to be an objectifying male..... It's fun!

Is there any better singing-loud-in-the-car-by-yourself-song than Pearl Jam's Jeremy? I think not.

I was the thigh admirer. I readily admit that.

I DEFY anyone to tell me that movie was bad. I feel protective of it..

Haha, I was allowing you anonymity there, you little pervert..... but if you wanna admit to being the thigh-fan that's fine.

I'm not that big a fan of it, but it wasn't as crap as I thought it'd be (I had extremely low expectations).
