some of us non-english teachers despair too...i hate the misuse of apostrophes. and bad spelling by people who should know better.
I think you'll find its actually correct and you've been doing it wrong all these years. :P

You mean every word that ends in S needs an apostrophe? I've seen that theory in action before.
ditto...the 'see an s add an apostrophe' rule...my favourite application is in the word like's...PS...love that the word verification word is gomerads and not gomerad's
